22Changes to Serve Growing Reader Base of Savvy Investors - The New 22 is Coming! (Technorati) Technorati | (Del.icio.us) Del.icio.us | (Digg) Digg | (Blinklist) Blinklist | (Comment) Comments (6)

Over the past couple days the team at 22Dollars.com has been very busy working and we apologize for the lack of recent posts. What have we been working on you ask? Well not financial analysis, but rather a total site-wide face-lift. Here are just some of the changes you can look forward to:

1.) Total site optimization with respect to coding, images, scripts and all other files to improve download times by over 400%!

2.) Transfer of the site over to the secure and extra speedy hosting of Media Temple's new (gs) Grid-Server platform.

3.) New tabbed browsing for navigation.

4.) Cleaner fonts for easier reading onscreen (I was a usability/human-computer interaction major in college so this kind of stuff is important to me!)

5.) The addition of 3 new pages: Contact, Credo and Club22...

6.) A new design that reflects the color you might think of when talking about making money... care to take a guess?

All in all, we are extremely excited and pleased with the how the transition is going thus far. We hope to launch the new site within the next month depending on several factors still up in the air. We hope that everyone will enjoy the new site and we look forward to hearing your feedback on it pending the official launch. Take care.

UPDATE (Oct. 29, 2006): All changes have been made and tested on the site and we are ready to go live pending the upgrade to our servers (which we are still waiting on). Hopefully this issue will be taken care of on Monday the latest as it is out of our hands. Thanks for your patience!

Hi Chad,

I'm looking forward to seeing the new 22dollars.com overhaul.

One thing I personally would like to see is a larger font size for the article text. I have a laptop with high resolution and the text looks a little small.

I have perfect vision so it's not so much of an issue for me, but many people I know wear glasses and struggle to read small sized text.

Other than that I like your site a lot how it is. I am looking forward to a tabbed navigation section!

Best Regards,
Nick

Nick,
I agree! There will be many changes, including the font, font-size, line spacing and overall readability of the site. I am hoping to have everything ready to go for a launch this weekend. Stay tuned... :-)

I noticed that you have Technorati | Del.icio.us | Digg | Blinklist | Comment on the top of your blogs. I have a site I think you might be interested in as well. www.feedthebull.com. It is a user driven, social content website (something like digg) dedicated to market news and blogs. I would be more than happy to give you the link to put next to your other links. This, I feel is more in line with what you are writing about and might have a better audience. Just like what you are doing, it is a way to allow the investors to voice their opinion on the market and the articles being put out there. Please write me back.

I thought the current color is already represents the color we think of when making money in financial market. You know, the black background and rather bright text, reminds me of my trading console...

I agree Oskar. The new site will not vary far with respect to color. Still going to have a black background and everything. The main difference will be the speed of the site and its usability (ease of use). Also, Club22 (a new feature) will be an area where our members can interact and exchange ideas with each other on subjects that I do not talk directly about on the blog. Just another option instead of posting comments. I am excited to hear the feedback our readers will have, both positive and negative of course. Take care Oskar.
